The Honey

Our Yellow Hive & Yellow Hive Honey started in 2011 when my late husband Glenn and I began our hobby as beekeepers. The hives were painted yellow due an exorbitant amount of leftover yellow paint. Not only did we have enough for the garage we had painted, but for the whole house, the beehives and even the chicken coop. "Our Yellow Hive" became the moniker for our home and our happiness. At the end of a hard day's work, we would sit by the hives to watch the bees complete their daily chores. I continue to keep bees and gather their honey in honor of Glenn.

The Suggestion

When you enjoy Yellow Hive Honey, I ask that you consider donating to the Children's Oncology Group Foundation.  Their work on promoting Surviorship Guidelines is important to children and adolescents as they age past surviving their illness.

The Reason

Glenn Morris was treated as a child, twice, for Hodgkins Disease. Once at 9, then again at 13. When Glenn was 44 the cancer returned. Before he knew there was a problem, the cancer had spread to his bones and his brain. Perhaps a follow up plan would have helped him manage and identify late effects of his prior treatment.
